Raffling off another new set of squeaky clean Zipp 202 wheels, we joined the festivities at an exciting up-and-coming ATB event called Rebecca’s Private Idaho.

Also, known as the “Queen of Pain,” world renowned cycling champion Rebecca Rusch (frontline, center in red, below) puts on this challenging and scenic 90+ mile race out of Ketchum, Idaho. Rebecca leads the race as well as the after party, which is as rockin’ and rollin’ as the race itself. Paying proper homage to the 529 spirit, we are definitely going back in 2015.

We are also huge fans of Dave Towle (who isn’t?) who was there to announce the race, and we were very excited to meet him while we were there. We became fast friends and the enthusiasm to meet one another soon became mutual as we told him about our mission to put a major dent in bicycle theft. We look forward to seeing him at more events soon.

This year about 30% of the riders were women. Which is fantastic compared to most endurance bicycle races, but Rebecca’s Private Idaho wants to make a big push to get that number up to 50% by next year. Spread the word if you are a female interested in joining this butt-kicking event, or share this post if you know a female who might be interested in registering for such a spectacular ride. The 529 ladies will be out in full Black and Yellow next year!
