Bicycle theft is an epidemic, and it’s time we, as a community, come together to squelch it’s free reign. That’s why we developed the 529 Garage website and app: to enable local cyclists to work together to help spot stolen bikes and get them back to their rightful owners.

To kick things off, we’ve put together a scavenger hunt here in PDX to show off a little of what our service can do, so keep your eyes peeled for our missing bike for a chance to win some t-shirts, hats and more!

Congratulations to our winners from each round so far: Gary Peloski and Joe Benson, are now the proud owners of some sweet 529 gear.

Our little stardust is back at home at 529 HQ, and there’s now a bright yellow Huffy Cruiser just waiting to be found.

It was last seen in the NE, in the Alberta district. Right outside the Salt and Straw. Went inside to get some treats, and came out and it was gone!

Please help us find our bike. We have reported it missing on our website and app. You can view the missing bike page here:  project529.com/tube-helmet-wind

Then, keep your eyes peeled for our bike. We suspect who-ever took it is still out there riding it. And if you see it, snap a picture of it and send us a tip through the missing bike page on our website or in our new iPhone app. Each tip is an entry to the contest to win more 529 gear, like ‘Bike Thieves Suck’ T-shirts, bicycle registration kits (which include our super tamper-proof, uniquely serialized shields) or 529 garage hats, and more. Please be sure to include your email address with your tip so we can contact you if you win!

And, as you are looking out for our bike, be sure to think of all those other stolen bikes in your area too! Check out our hotsheet, and the let their rightful owner’s know if you’ve seen them!

Help us grow our anti-bike theft brigade and may the best detectives win!
